Real Madrid boss Rafael Benitez is unsure when Gareth Bale will return to action following confirmation he has suffered a calf injury.
The 26-year-old attacking midfielder was forced off after just 30 minutes of the Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday, which saw Los Blancos emerge comfortable 4-0 victors at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Scans on Thursday revealed the extent of the problem and Bale, who has been dogged by calf injuries in his two years in Spain, is set for another spell on the sidelines, although Real gave no indication how long the Wales international was expected to be out.

A statement from the La Liga club read: "Following the tests carried out on Gareth Bale today in the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, the player has been diagnosed with a soleus muscle injury in his left leg. His condition will be evaluated."
